About

The National Theater in Belgrade is located in the Republic Square, at the corner of Vasina and the French Street, in the very center of the city. Within it operates Opera, Ballet and Drama, and performances take place on two stages, Main stage and stage Rasa Plaović. Today it is one of the most representative and most important cultural institutions of Serbia.

According to architect Aleksandar Bugarski project, building was completed in 1869, and on 30 October the same year, the first performance - "Posthumous fame of Prince Mihailo", wrote by Djordje Maletic was conducted.

The theater is largely adapted to people with disabilities and people with special needs.
