About
The Old Palace, the palace of the Serbian dynasty Obrenović, was built between 1882 and 1884 according to the project of Alexander Bugarski in the style of architecture of the 19th century academy. It was built with the intent to overcome all previous residence of Serbian rulers, for the needs of the newly formed Kingdom of Serbia, led by King Milan Obrenović. After the reconstruction, after heavy damage during both World Wars, the appearance of the Dvor was quite changed in relation to the original project. By its external architecture, the building is among the most beautiful achievements of the academic architecture of Serbia in the 19th century.
Today in the Old Palace is the Assembly of the city of Belgrade and the mayor's cabinet.
The facility is partly accesible to persons with disabilities and to persons with special needs. A note for deaf and hard of hearing is that there are no audio support systems within the facility's tour.
It is mandatory to call the Tourist Organization of Belgrade +381 11 3625060 for a scheduled tour.
